The Nipa Research Base is a small research base, home to scientists studying the flora and fauna of the Nipa Swamp. It connects the Piki River to Nipa Swamp.

Description[]

The Nipa Research Base is a small base of operations created to home the scientists and their equipment whilst they're studying the Nipa Swamp. Whilst there are no trainers to battle, or wild mons to encounter, the Research Facility does have a range scientists who'll help you in exchange for a few items.

Inside of the Research Facility, the first room to the west houses four scientists who, in exchange for the drops you've received from wild Pokémon in battle, will grant you a range of benefits;-

- The scientist to the very left collects the drops of Bug-type Pokémon, and in exchange for 5 Humid Husks, Dry Husks, or Sharp Barbs they'll teach your Pokémon some useful utility moves.

- The scientist second from the left collects the drops of Flying-type Pokémon, and in exchange for 5 Downy Feathers, Glide Feathers, or Soar Feathers they'll teach your Pokémon a fist or fang-based move.

- The scientist second from the right collects the furs of Pokémon, and in exchange for 10 Bristle Furs, or 5 Fragrant Furs they'll teach your Pokémon a weight-based move.

- The scientist to the very right collects the marine debris from Pokémon, and for 10 Chewed Shells, or 5 Wave Sponges they'll teach your Pokémon a powerful move.

Side Quest[]

In the first room to the east of the research facility, you'll come across a Scientist who explains that a bunch of their fellow scientists are currently out in Nipa Swamp collecting data, but are needed for a meeting that is coming up. However, it is very hard to contact them so they ask you to go out and tell them in person so they all remember and make their ways back, warning you that they'll likely battle you before doing so. You then must go hunt them down around the swamp before returning.

Once you've defeated all the Scientists in the swamp and informed them of the meeting, return to the facility and speak with the Scientist once more. He'll remark how impressive it is that you managed not only to find all of his colleagues, but also defeat them in battle before gifting you the Pokémon Delibo as a thanks, stating that they created it themselves and a strong trainer like yourself will likely find it useful.
